I’m an independent designer working with midwest companies and remote teams to research, design, and ship digital products and the brands that surround them.

My take: most design problems aren't really design problems. They're communication problems, alignment problems, "we don't actually know who our customer is" problems. I've learned to spot which one I'm walking into and to bring the right tools and questions to ask.

Clients hire me when they're tired of explaining the same thing to different agencies, when they need a specialists’ generalist who can think in systems, and when they want the person doing the research to also be the person doing the design.
